The independently owned Garth Hotel and Restaurant commands the North East side of The Square in the thriving Highland town of Grantown-on-Spey. Put firmly on the holiday map by Queen Victoria, Grantown offers some of the country's best known golf, fishing and hill-walking opportunities right on the doorstep. Ideally located for those wanting to combine a golfing holiday with a visit to the Speyside Whisky Trail.
The name "Garth" is derived from the Gaelic word garadh meaning "warming." This is reflected not only in the physical comforts and friendly charm of the Hotel but also in the cheerful, courteous and caring service that welcomes every guest. Extensive grounds with carefully landscaped gardens and a striking building of great character promise a holiday to remember.

A warm welcome awaits you in our cosy, well stocked lounge bar. Excellent bar meals are served throughout the day, complemented by a fine selection of draught and bottled beers, wines, spirits and of course a superb range of Malts. You can sample some of the highlights of our range of over 70 malt whiskies here. For golf societies we will donate a bottle of Malt as a prize donation for parties of 10 or more.

The town's own well-respected 18 hole Grantown on Spey Club is laid out in wooded parkland and offers fine views. It was formed in 1890 and a nine hole course was laid out by A.C. Brown, a golf professional. In 1911. This was extended to 18 holes to a design by Willie Park of Musselburgh. In 1921, James Braid was asked to advise on improvements to the course and the changes he recommended were incorporated and remain to the present day..
Golf enthusiasts with all levels of handicap are really spoiled for choice. Nearby courses include Boat of Garten (18), Craggan Mill (18), Carr-Bridge (9), Abernethy (9), Kingussie (18) and Newtonmore (18). Still within easy reach are famous names such as Nairn, Nairn Dunbar, Lossiemouth, Buckie, Inverness, Dornoch and Rosemount.
